VOLUNTEER EMERGENCY MEDICAL HELP FROM EMPLOYEE

Steven E. Springer Dec. 21, 2013

EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES: CIVIL LIABILITY (SEE AB 633):

This bill stops employers from having a policy of prohibiting its employees from providing voluntary emergency medical services,

including, but not limited to, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, in response to a medical emergency. The bill does not impose any express or implied duty on an employer to train its employees regarding emergency medical services or cardiopulmonary resuscitation. IMPORTANT—This law will affect almost every employer, whether or not services are provided to the general public.
